Path to Success Scholarship

Overview

The Path to Success Scholarship supports single parents who are economically and educationally disadvantaged but determined to obtain a college degree so they may improve their family’s long-term economic stability.  The scholarship was founded as a partnership between the University of Massachusetts Boston, Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership (MBHP) and Beacon Hill Property Group.

Objective

The objective of the scholarship is to provide sufficient funds for eligible students to attend UMass Boston.
The scholarship will be renewable (subject to compliance with the program’s continuing eligibility requirements) for up to four consecutive years.

Ongoing Support

MBHP will provide housing and other appropriate stabilization services to the award recipients. UMass will provide counseling and academic support. Ultimately, the scholars will be expected to work toward financial independence and will work with an Advisor from MBHP to establish goals, responsibilities, timelines and a specific plan of action.  MBHP and UMass will maintain continuous contact with the scholars throughout the program.
